Wrapping up the summer...

We have had such a wonderful summer at RPC! The entire church dove into the study of the Armor of God and how we are protected through the firmness of our faith and love of God. Elementary children followed along with the sermon series and learned with it means to have the Shield of Faith, the Helmet of Salvation, the Breastplate of Righteousness, and so much more!

We also learned what it means to stand strong for God through Kingdom Rock, VBS. We learned what it means to have your family and friends, God, and the Bible help you stand strong in your faith!

This summer was definitely all about a rock-solid faith and love of God which the children of RPC clearly have!

We have had some great camps and super fun events for our children and families this summer. This past week we wrapped up our summer events with....

A morning at the Riverside Sprayground with 32 preschool and kindergartners,

A fun day at Six Flags White Water with our older elementary kids,

And a family night at the Braves game!

Thank you for spending the summer with us!! And thank you to our summer intern, Maggie, who planned all of these fun events this summer!

Help us celebrate and thank our summer Children's Ministry Intern, Maggie, on her last Sunday at RPC! This coming Sunday, August 4, after Sunday school children and families are invited to join us outside on the lawn beside the children's elementary wing for some treats and a time to give Maggie big hugs before she heads back to college!

RPC Basketball Camp!

48 elementary children joined us this week for RPC Basketball Camp! Their coach, Ben Lee, the Varsity Basketball coach at Lexington High School in Lexington SC, helped them learn the basic skills and drills of basketball, play fun games, and scrimmage. Each day they were led in a mid-day devotion where they discussed how God is with them when they are playing basketball.

Campers got to take home a camp t-shirt and basketball at the end of camp. Several youth volunteered to help coach throughout the week and earned money towards RPC youth trips. By the end of the week these campers were worn out, but had a wonderful time and learned a ton about basketball!

ice cream for our last day of camp!

Mark your calendars for RPC Basketball Camp 2014!
July 7-10

Meet our Children's Ministry Intern!

Maggie Bennight!

Maggie just finished her freshman year at Presbyterian College, where she is considering double majoring in Christian Education and Psychology, and is a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She was born and raised in Charlotte NC, however she is an avid St. Louis Cardinals, Clemson football and Duke basketball fan, oh and the Blue Hose of course! She is the youngest of 3 kids and takes full advantage of being the "baby". She loves Chinese food and root beer. She enjoys running and swimming and her favorite color is pink. Maggie LOVES playing with kids and has thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend so much time with RPC children this summer through VBS, volleyball camp, basketball camp, and fun summer events! Maggie wants to get to know as many kids as possible this summer so make sure you come hang out with her at our summer camps and events! ....And she loves ice cream, so you can totally ask her out to ice cream dates.

Maggie went to Kenya at the beginning of the summer with her school!
