At Roswell Presbyterian Church and within the Children’s Ministry, we strongly encourage families to worship together. A little bit of fidgeting and dropping books in the sanctuary does not bother us. It is so important for your children to see you worshiping and experience worshiping as a family so that they can model this behavior when they are older and making their own decisions about worship.
At RPC we try very hard to make worshiping as a family an easy experience on Sunday morning. We offer worship bags as well as numerous books in the narthex that children are always welcome to. Kindergarteners for the past few years have also received their own worship bags upon completion of their worship education series. We encourage you to help your child use that as their worship bag and fill it with items that can help them learn and understand during worship. Recently we have also added children's Bibles to the first few pews in the sanctuary to encourage children to look up passages and follow along in Bibles that are more suited to their reading levels.
The next couple of weeks in worship, Dr. Alderman’s sermons are going to be very appropriate for families with children. He will be discussing how to teach children about money and being generous, and specifically how to deal with questions pertaining to managing money and finances. I strongly encourage families to be there for this series.
Lastly, many of you might not know about all of the studies we offer for adults on Sunday mornings, so that you may study at the same time as your child, allowing you all to worship together. Check out all of the great study opportunities we offer, Adult Sunday Studies at RPC.
As always, you are welcome to contact any of our Children's Ministry staff with questions about helping your child worship with you. We are happy to help any family with questions about worshiping with children!
