Information for Rising 6th Graders

As sad as we are that our 5th graders will no longer be a part of the Children's Ministry Program at RPC after this school year, we are so excited for them to move into Middle School Ministry! This summer our 5th graders will get the opportunity to start going on middle school trips with RPC.
Parents of rising 6th graders, please see the information below from Julianne.

Summer will be here before we know it, and I want to let you know about some great opportunities for your rising middle schooler this summer!

Student Life Camp
June 5-9
Located in Lookout Mountain, GA on the campus of Covenant College.
$420

Activities include fun games, team-building activities, and sports tournaments for those that are interested. There is also time for students to just hang out and spend time with one another. Each morning and night, they will be able to worship and hear God’s Word, which is the core of what this camp is about.
Students will most definitely have a ton of fun, but it is also a special opportunity for them to grow in their faith. If your student does one thing with us this summer, my hope is that it would be this camp.

Chattanooga Mission Trip
July 8-13
$450

We will be working with a ministry called Widow’s Harvest, and the students will get to help fix up houses, yards, etc. Giving students the opportunity to serve is truly life changing. This trip has been a favorite among students in the past, and I’m sure it will be great this year as well!
Click here to register and for more information

I understand that these trips are expensive and it is important for you to know where your money is going. The cost goes toward speakers, music, games, activities, supplies, food, lodging, and transportation. Please know that we have done our very best to keep the prices as low as possible. If you have more than one student in your family interested in going on these trips, we do offer a discount. The second student will get a 20% discount, and the third student will get a 30% discount. Your spot is reserved with a $100 deposit. You can sign up online or with a check made out to RPC.

I would absolutely love to have your student join us on one or both of these trips. I know God will do some amazing things. Please let me know if you have any questions/concerns about these trips or about the Middle School Ministry in general!

Children's Pew Bibles

This past Sunday we handed out over 80 Bibles to our 3 year olds and 3rd graders for Bible Sunday.
This was a very special day because many of these children received their very first Bible on this day. These children now have their own Bibles that they can study and learn the word of God with. The hope of Roswell Presbyterian Church is that these gifts from their church family serve as guides and tools throughout their faith journey.

Due to the immense generosity of our congregation, we were able to order extra children's Bibles for use as pew Bibles in the sanctuary. The first several rows of pews in the sanctuary now have Children's Pew Bibles.
We want children to feel welcome and invited to "big church". We also want to encourage families to sit up front so children can see what is happening during worship.

I encourage you to help your children find these special rows with the Bibles on Sunday mornings.
Help your children find the New and Old Testament verses we use each Sunday and encourage them to read the accompanied questions and look at the pictures that this children’s Bible provides.

Let us know how you and your children like this new addition to worship!

Bible Sunday

Reminder that Bible Sunday is this Sunday, March 10, for 3 Year Olds and 3rd Graders!

3 year olds will receive their Bibles at 9:45 worship. They need to be checked-in in the Multipurpose Room on the preschool/childcare hall prior to 9:45. Then head up to worship and find the reserved rows for 3 year old families. Their Sunday school teachers will take them back to Sunday school after they receive their Bibles.
Contact Dorinda Purvis with any questions.

3rd graders will receive their Bibles at 11:15 worship. They will go to Kidz Prayz and Sunday school per usual at 9:45am. They will have a reception in the Fellowship Hall from 10:30-11am, which families are invited to. Then head up to worship and find the reserved rows for 3rd grade families. Once they receive their Bibles they will remain on the chancel steps to recite their memory verse, Psalm 23.
Contact Sarah Kate DeWyngaert with any questions.

If you have not let us know that your 3 year old or 3rd grader would like to receive a Bible this Sunday, please contact Sally Heneghan in the church office to do so.
